Led Zeppelin History – July 26

Today in 1977 Zeppelin were in New Orleans preparing for the last leg of their 1977 U.S. tour, when they received news from England that singer Robert Plant’s 5-yr-old son Karac had died from a stomach virus. The remaining seven U.S. tour dates were immediately cancelled, and the band returned to England. They did not perform live again until July 1979 (the Copenhagen show from the July 24th post). Karac’s death inspired Robert to later write the song “All My Love”, featured on Zeppelin’s final studio album, 1979’s In Through the Out Door.
