Led Zeppelin History – Nov 6

Today in 1969 Zeppelin started a huge 3-night gig at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco. The poster for this event was done by Randy Tuten, who did posters for Bill Graham’s events at the Fillmore West (among many other things). Original copies of this poster are highly collectable today, commonly fetching 4 figures on the market.

Setlist: Good Times Bad Times (intro only), Communication Breakdown, I Can’t Quit You Baby, Heartbreaker, Dazed and Confused, White Summer, Black Mountain Side, What Is and What Should Never Be, Moby Dick, How Many More Times medley (incl. Boogie Chillen’, Hideaway, Bottle Up ‘n Go, Lemon Song), C’Mon Everybody, Something Else.

Also today, in 1978, Zeppelin travelled to ABBA’s Polar Music Studios in Stockholm to begin recording their 1979 album In Through the Out Door.
