Led Zeppelin History – Nov 26

Today in 1973 initial recording for Zeppelin’s sixth album (Physical Graffiti) began at Headley Grange, the same grounds where their untitled fourth album was recorded. John Bonham and Jimmy Page recorded an Eastern-flavored demo instrumental, later to take form as “Kashmir”. Sessions soon broke up though, when bassist John Paul Jones decided to take a break to think over his intention to quit the group; he had been offered the choirmaster position at Winchester Cathedral
