Led Zeppelin History – Jan 31

Today in 1969 Zeppelin played the first of two nights at the Fillmore East in New York, opening for Iron Butterfly. Porter’s Popular Preachers opened the show, then Led Zeppelin took the stage. It is alleged that Zep’s 90-minute performance was so powerful and received such an enthusiastic audience response that Iron Butterfly refused to go onstage afterward.
