Led Zeppelin History – March 5

Today in 1971 “Stairway to Heaven” was played live for the very first time. Lucky fans at a Led Zeppelin concert in Ulster Hall, Belfast were the first ever to hear “Stairway”, “Black Dog”, “Going to California” and “Rock and Roll”, as Led Zeppelin debuted songs from their upcoming fourth album to a live audience. But it would be another eight months before the album containing them would be released.

Setlist: Immigrant Song, Heartbreaker, Since I’ve Been Loving You, Black Dog, Dazed and Confused, Stairway to Heaven, Going to California, What Is and What Should Never Be, Moby Dick, Whole Lotta Love (medley of Let That Boy Boogie, Bottle Up and Go, Long Distance Call), Communication Breakdown, Rock and Roll, Bring it On Home.
