Led Zeppelin History – May 5

Today in 1973 56,800 people attended a Led Zeppelin concert at Tampa Stadium, FL. This attendance figure (and receipts of $309,000) set a new record for the largest crowd ever at a single-act performance. The previous record was held by The Beatles for their Shea Stadium show in 1965. The Tampa record was one Zeppelin themselves would break four years later in the Pontiac Silverdome.
